The Bardstown Bourbon Company Announces Grain & Barrel’s Participation in Its Collaborative Distilling Program

The Bardstown Bourbon Company (BBCo) announced today that Grain & Barrel Spirits, the maker of pre-prohibition favorite Chicken Cock Whiskey, has joined BBCo’s Collaborative Distilling Program. Grain & Barrel will work together with BBCo to produce custom bourbon and whiskey for the historic Chicken Cock brand, which dates back to 1856. BBCo and Grain & Barrel concluded their first distillation of 616 barrels at the end of August.

Through BBCo’s distilling program, Grain & Barrel’s Master Distiller Gregg Snyder will collaborate with Bourbon Hall of Fame Master Distiller Steve Nally and BBCo’s first-class distilling team, led by Executive Director of Distilling Operations, John Hargrove, to produce its high-quality, small-batch whiskey, bourbon, and rye for many years to come.

160th Anniversary Single Barrel 8 Year Old Bourbon

The wait is over! Barrel #1 of our 160th Anniversary Single Barrel 8 Year Old Bourbon is now available online! Once they are gone that’s it. We estimate we’ll get 240 bottles from this barrel, which we will be bottling over the next two weeks. Each bottle will be labeled with Barrel number and Bottle number. Having just won a DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this is without a doubt the best whiskey to bear the Chicken Cock name in a century!

Our 160th Anniversary Limited Release is bottled in a replica of a pre-prohibition Chicken Cock bottle discovered at the Lexington Visitor’s Center. It’s truly a work of art. We’ll release 30 barrels total, one at a time, starting with the most special of all – Barrel #1. Bottles from this Barrel will ONLY be sold online, first come, first served.
