Today is Now National Cherry Bounce Day!

George Washington is rumored to have chopped down a cherry tree or two in his time. Perhaps it was to supply the ingredients for his most beloved libation. George Washington’s favorite liquor was his wife Martha’s recipe for Cherry Bounce, one of 18th century America’s most popular and high-spirited beverages.

In honor of National Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, Chicken Cock American Whiskey declares from this day forward March 26th will be National Cherry Bounce Day. To celebrate, Chicken Cock decided to launch its own version of our forefather’s favorite libation. But as a brand with roots tracing back to 1856 is inclined to do, Chicken Cock has seen Martha and George and raised them one by adding some natural cherry cola flavor to its 21st century version. You’re welcome America!

CHICKEN COCK BECOMES THE OFFICIAL WHISKEY OF COLT FORD

Colt-CCW-smIt’s official! Chicken Cock Whiskey, the 156-year-old American Whiskey brand made famous in the 1920s as a bootleg whiskey during Prohibition, is saddling up with country star Colt Ford.

Chicken Cock will collaborate closely with Colt Ford to bring new, exciting promotions to fans through concert tour experiences, product integration, private meet-and-greets and social media.

To celebrate our partnership we’re giving away an opportunity to hang with the man himself… and maybe just enjoy a shot or two of his favorite whiskey…  Click here for a chance to win!

Originally produced in 1856, the Chicken Cock brand currently features a line of flavored American whiskies available in Cinnamon, Southern Spiced and Root Beer. Chicken Cock Whiskey is easily recognized in its quick-chill aluminum bottle which harkens back to the tin cans once used to smuggle the bootleg whiskey into Prohibition-era speakeasies like the Cotton Club where it became
famous as the “whiskey in a tin can.” Demand for Chicken Cock continues to build as the expanding product line rolls out to shot glasses, tumblers and mason jars nationwide.

For Ford, the partnership announcement comes on the heels of a series of sold-out shows across the country as he continues to tour with platinum-selling duo Florida-Georgia Line (Academy of Country Music Awards New Artist of the Year) in support of his fourth album, Declaration of Independence, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.  Ford has also helped deliver two #1 country singles, co-writing “Dirt Road Anthem” for Jason Aldean and “Country Must Be Country Wide” with Brantley Gilbert. His two most recent releases both debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

Recognized as the Godfather of the fast-growing country rap genre known as “hick-hop,” Ford is a former golfer who grew up near Athens, Ga., listening to hip-hop, rock and country music.  A accomplished songwriter, producer and performer, Ford draws deeply from his Georgia roots to spin vivid tales of working-class life and back-roads good times, blending hip-hop into classic trucker ballads, honky tonk rave-ups and back-road party music with equal parts swagger, humor and humanity.

CHICKEN COCK WHISKEY MAKES BULL RIDING DEBUT AS REESE CATES RETURNS TO BUILT FORD TOUGH SERIES

Reese Cates cropComeback Stories Highlight Sponsorship of Former PBR Rookie of the Year

Chicken Cock Whiskey the 157-year-old brand made famous as a bootleg whiskey during Prohibition, unveiled its sponsorship of professional bull rider Reese Cates at the 2014 PBR Built Ford Tough Series season opener, Jan. 3-5 at Madison Square Garden. The Monster Energy Buck-Off at The Garden provided an exciting backdrop for Cates’ return to BFTS competition after injury cut his season short in 2013.

Cates, a four-time PBR World Finals qualifier and the 2008 PBR Rookie of the Year, carried the Chicken Cock Whiskey banner as the chutes opened in New York and the 24-year-old native of El Dorado, Ark. revived his lifelong dream of winning a PBR world title.

“We’re very excited to have Reese Cates riding for Chicken Cock Whiskey,” said Matti Anttila, CEO of Chicken Cock Distillers which revived the heritage brand in 2013. “Reese is one of the most dynamic young riders in the sport – the toughness and dedication he has shown in getting back on the rankest bulls in the world is something that we are proud to be a part of.”

Millions of TV viewers watching PBR action on CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network in 2014 will be introduced to the Chicken Cock Whiskey brand every time Cates enters the chutes. Chicken Cock will work with Cates to bring exciting experiences to fans as the PBR travels across the country, including behind-the-scenes, VIP access for select customers and consumers, as well as meet-and-greets with Cates before, during and after PBR events.

Recognized by Forbes (Aug. 2013), as “America’s Fastest Growing Sport,” the PBR continues to surpass attendance records, win new fans and grow its TV market. According to 2012 research from Scarborough Sports Marketing, the PBR has 36 million adult fans in the U.S., among which more than half watch PBR action on TV, with nearly two million fans attending live events. Worldwide, the PBR attracts a global TV audience of more than 100 million viewers annually.

Cates is regarded as one of the most popular and talented up-and-coming bull riders on the PBR tour. As an 18-year-old, he took the sport by storm in 2008 when he qualified for his first PBR event, challenging the best in the world and going on to win almost $200,000 plus top rookie honors.

“I’ve never dealt with a company as courteous and dedicated to providing excellence to the individual as Chicken Cock Whiskey,” said Cates. “I’m extremely thankful and blessed to be representing the brand. There’s nothing like its cinnamon whiskey on the rocks. It’s the perfect drink to enjoy after a long night of bull riding.”
